Podcasting at the USC School of Music is a pilot program for delivering course content via recorded audio and video. These recordings can be viewed and/or heard on any computer with Internet access or downloaded to any iPod ( video recordings are compatible with iPod video).
The vision of this project is to provide a powerful, yet simple to use tool to assist asynchronous learning, giving professors more flexibility in course delivery to traditional and nontraditional students. The project has been developed to specifically make the recording process as simple as possible as to not distract from the content being recorded.
usc.cast was originally developed by Joel Shields, an alumnus of the University of South Carolina. Podcasting at the School of Music is a version of this original project, and the School owes many thanks for Joel's willingness to share the project and assist with its implementation.
If you are interested in adapting usc.cast for your own podcasting needs, please contact Joel at shieldss@gmail.com. Click here for a further description of usc.cast in its original form.
The necessary infrastructure and project rollout for the USC School of Music was developed by Jason Trenary, the Information Technology Director for the School.
